The Earth Has Ears"

Dhulku Dhago Leh" is the original Somali title of the short film
also known as "The Earth Has Ears", which is a Somalilanguage
civil war film about the absurdity of war and how it
impacts the home front. The film, directed by Khadar Ayderus
Ahmed and produced by Riyo Films, features a story without
gunfire but instead shows women having to pick up
gravediggers' shovels when men go to war, highlighting the

Will my parents to see me

Will My Parents Come to See Me (2022) is a 28-minute short
film about Farah, a young man in Somalia who awaits
execution. Guided through the formalities of the justice system
by a policewoman — including a final visit from his parents —
the film offers a stark meditation on the death penalty. By
focusing on one individual’s final hours, director Mo Harawe
delivers a deeply human perspective on state-sanctioned
death.
