Ahmed Farah is Director/DOP and worked with various European networks and production companies, such as BNN Netherlands, MTV Europe, RTL 8 Netherlands, and Vitaya Belgium.
In 2011, he was the director of photography for ‘The Last Hijack,’ which won an Emmy Award for online production. His work with Riyo Films took him across Africa, contributing to notable projects for Channel4 news and winning awards for documentaries.
He received the One World Media Award for ‘Best Documentary Piece’ in 2013 and was a finalist for the Rory Peck Award.
Ahmed wrote and directed the critically acclaimed ‘Ayaanle’ movie in 2021.
Moreover, Ahmed’s impact extends beyond singular film achievements. He also ventured into the creation of the ‘Arday’ series, which has gained immense popularity within the Somali community worldwide.

Among his acclaimed projects is the television series Arday, which highlights his ability to capture authentic cultural narratives with precision and depth.
Said also played a pivotal role as the First Assistant Director in the critically acclaimed film The Village Next to Paradise, which premiered at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2024. Nuur Abdulkadir is a cross-cultural production designer and art director known for blending European precision with East African authenticity in film. A key creative at Riyo Films, his recent credits include The Earth Has Ears (2025), One Woman, One Bra (2025), The Village Next to Paradise (2025), and K’naan’s Mother Mother (TIFF, 2024). With over seven years in Dutch interior design and a background in procurement, Nuur brings both artistic vision and logistical expertise to his work, most notably reducing costs by 30% through sustainable, modular set reuse. He trained in Spatial Design at HKU in 2016.
